What attracted you to GSV?

The commitment to serving those on the fringes of society through the four tenets and the mission of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd.

Where are you serving/what kind of work are you doing?

I’m serving young people who are emotionally disturbed at Collier High School in New Jersey through teaching and supporting their needs and those of my colleagues.

How have you seen personal growth thus far as a result of your experience (site placement/community) with GSV?

I have become more aware of the impact I have on other people – my community and the young people of the high school.

What is the best or most surprising part about your volunteer year so far?

The sense of community amongst all of the GSVs regardless of site location. There is a very real sense of commonality of purpose.

Any advice for someone considering post-graduate service?

Seriously consider what you have to offer GSV and what the mission of GSV has to offer you.
